________

We live by the coast, surrounded by water and constant movement. Ships come and go, oil is extracted, goods transported, waste hidden away. Robots and A.I. map the sea floor, seaweed quietly grows forests beneath the waves.

What remains under the surface? What is it that is being hidden, put out of sight?

We’ve explored Bergen’s shifting coastline, from the CO2 storage facility in Øygarden, to a seaweed farm in Austevoll, to the future harbour area that will inevitably reshape the city.

Bergen’s cargo terminal is usually a closed off area, behind fences, out of sight for most of us.- Now we’re opening the gates! We invite you to an exhibition inside, where we’ll share what we have explored in the last weeks.

Important information:

As the exhibition takes place inside an active cargo terminal, visitors will need to bring a valid photo ID to enter (Passport, national ID-card, or Norwegian driver’s license)

Visitors will be guided from the entrance (at Bergen Havnevagt, see map below) to the exhibition every hour, on the hour, i.e. Saturday and Sunday at 12:00, 13:00, 14:00 and 15:00

Exhibiting artists:

Aleksander Angell
Calvin Hein
